Section 14
Not to be detained or imprisoned beyond the prescribed period

(1) Prisoners who have been imprisoned or imprisoned for a specified period shall be released from imprisonment or imprisonment immediately after such period has been paid and an order issued by the competent authority not to remain in prison shall be made.
(2) The prison administrator shall mention in the prisoner record book that any prisoner has been released from imprisonment or imprisonment in accordance with sub-section (1).
(3) Jail Administrator. Or if it is found that a prisoner has been detained or imprisoned for more than the prescribed period of time due to the misconduct of an employee, or if it is found that he has not done or should not have done the work according to this Act, departmental action will be taken against such employee.
(4) In case of detention or incarceration for more than the period specified in sub-section (1), the concerned prisoner or his family or relatives may submit an application to the concerned chief district officer to open his affairs.
(5): On submission of an application as per sub-section (4), the Chief District Officer shall order the immediate imprisonment or release of such prisoner and pay him compensation as prescribed.
(6) "Prisoners who have completed their imprisonment but do not have family or relatives or who have not come in contact or who cannot return to their families due to physical or mental problems, the prison administrator shall coordinate with the Chief District Officer to take care of such persons or government institutions for that purpose. It can be entrusted to the social organizations established according to the prevailing law.
